"Every citizen's voice will be heard", says Mahendran, VP of MNM about party restructuring

Coimbatore: To bolster the party's presence in Tamil Nadu and to bring more transparency and accountability in serving people, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) had organised a meeting here to explain on their internal restructuring and upcoming agenda.

R. Mahendran, Vice President of MNM, executive committee members and party cadres across the district took part in the meeting which discussed comprehensively on strengthening the party along with initiating membership drive. 

"Keeping in mind the vision of the party which aims to serve all sections of the people, Kamal Hassan, the President of the party has tweaked the internal structure of the party to bring in more accountability and tighten the loopholes. With this restructuring, the citizens can now get in touch with the functionaries of the party in a much transparent and easier way", said R Mahendran, VP. 

"The restructuring will steer the party towards tirelessly working for the people and ensure victory in the upcoming 2021 Tamil Nadu State Assembly Elections. Now, every ward in the city will have a team exclusively working to address the grievances of the people", he added. 

He also briefed on the top leadership which will hereon operate with one Vice President, six General Secretaries and a Treasurer reporting directly to the President. Two new General Secretaries have been added for monitoring the implementation of restructuring. Out of which, one of the General Secretary will work of restricting activities of North and East and another will work on South and West.

"Along with this, a general secretary will work as a coordinator to boost the party's electoral prospects in 2021 at booth level across all consistencies of the State. In addition, the party shall also have a General Secretary Propaganda, General Secretary Frontals and a General Secretary President's Office to give a focussed approach to the party in a wholesome manner", the VP said. 

The Vice President also added that the Party have decided to divide Tamil Nadu into 8 Zones for easy and efficient administration. In which, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Salem, Vilupuram, Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai and Tirunelveli will be the zones. One Zonal In-charge (Organisation) and one Zonal In-charge (Coordination) will be appointed for each zone.
